ST. LOUIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has named Monsanto Company to its 2016 list of Top Workplaces. Of the top 20 St. Louis area large employers appearing on the list, Monsanto is ranked No. 18. The Top Workplaces are determined solely on the results of an employee feedback survey administered by WorkplaceDynamics, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. The Top Workplace rankings appeared in the June 26 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “This is a wonderful honor for our company and for our St. Louis area employees,” said Steve Mizell, Monsanto’s Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “To be considered one of the Top Workplaces is confirmation of our core values at Monsanto. Our emphasis on work-life balance, professional development and inclusion & diversity, continue to help attract talent to the region for us. Ultimately, strong talent is what gives us a competitive advantage.” “The Top Workplace award is not a popularity contest. Oftentimes, people assume it’s all about fancy perks and benefits,” said Doug Claffey, CEO of WorkplaceDynamics. “But to be a Top Workplace, organizations must meet our strict standards for organizational health.” Monsanto, headquartered in Creve Coeur, is committed to the St. Louis region. The company currently employs more than 5,000 people throughout the metropolitan area. In 2015, Monsanto and the Monsanto Fund, the company’s philanthropic arm, gave nearly $12 million to non-profit organizations throughout the bi-state area. Monsanto employees also donated countless volunteer hours to a number of local charitable causes. Additionally, Monsanto continues to be recognized by third-party organizations as an employer of choice. Earlier this year, DiversityInc® named Monsanto to its Top 50 Companies for Diversity List. Great Place to Work® Institute and Fortune® magazine ranked Monsanto 11th on its 2016 list of the 50 Best Workplaces for Flexibility.
